Why do some clubs seek to appoint two assistant managers and can this be changed using the pre-game editor?

Some clubs will now appoint two assistants managers, it was a new feature this year to mirror the fact it happens in real life now.

Can FM players use this? I noticed that I had two when I took the Schalke job, but couldn't find one of them (the better one, natch) in the staff role pages, so I ended up sacking one of them. Both show up on the coaching assignment page, though.

Yes, go to a country and then in the information tab there is an option to allow multiple assistant managers.

Yeah, staff responsibilities will only show 1 AssMan for some reason unfortunately. Not great if you want to delegate a bunch of stuff. It can be really convenient for getting good coaches though, since AssMans generally have much better developed secondary stats.
