you are aware Soviet Union played international competitions during the cold war, right?
Yeah, but the fact that they are suspended now shows that it’s Different times. It’s arguable that our relation with Russia is even worse now than it was before. If Russia is suspended now, I don’t think them simply ending the war will be enough. They would probably have to make reparations to Ukraine which day would refuse to do, so I suspect the sanctions and the bans will continue.

I have only played fm22, but in that game you can create a manager for any team at any time. You can create a manager to take over the team, do what you need to do and then resign that manager.

Hello,
My board recently decided that they wanted to build a new stadium and submitted the 'TBD' plan document to announce their intent. The next step is to get an email with the exact specifications of the stadium, how much it will cost, and for the funds to be deducted from your account. The initial email happened as soon as we secured promotion to the next league, it is now year later and I have yet to get the specs for the stadium and for the stadium to actually start construction. In my previous saves it has taken days or a few weeks for this to happen. It seems like the request has just disappeared into the void, along with the ability to actually request a new stadium manually.
Any thoughts?

you really don't have a rough idea the war will end? it will go on for 200 years? Sure you didn't mean 2000?
It is obviously done decision, right or wrong/realistic or not, it is something SI has right to do and did it. Why insult intelligence of forumites with excuses that make no sense?
It’s not a matter of when
the war will end but how. It is likely that Russia will regress back into Cold War levels of isolation.

The good thing about this there is no database size where your PC wont be able to handle it, it will just take longer and longer. My pc is meh but I can easily run the entire england league (like down to league 11 with probably 1.5k clubs) or most major nations with their top 2 leagues just fine.

How low? Like vanarama or are you downloading a 10 tier database to start in amateur league?
As most of the answers here seem to be based around vanarama league, ill give some insights on a literal tier 10/11 start.
If you start on tier 11 you will litterally have a $0 budget. In this case, you want to offer contracts to everyone. I am being serious. If you are not offering a hundred contracts a month, I dont even know. The players cost nothing, there is no fee to poach them, and the skill difference is massive at the lower leagues. You will have everything from legit sunday players to former vanarama players who are 40 who want to keep playing (these are the true gems, tho old they can still school any legit amateur). In my latest start I had a 4 star player in my starting roster. I signed a new 5 star player who made my 4 star player 1 star. I then signed two more 5 star players who made my new 5 star player 2 stars. The difference in 5 star players in amateur can legit be the difference between a 1 and 5 star player three times over in other leagues.
Because you have no money, you have no negotiating power over players. This makes it hard to get players. As you cant offer binding contracts it is hard to keep players. Expect to constantly be signing a better player, and expect other teams to constantly be poaching your better players. ESPECAILLY those vanarama north/south teams. Some of your best players will be potentially subs for tier 8-6 teams, who can actually offer money. Expect to lose those players in an instant.
Playing in amateur is hilarious for a few minutes but gets old fast. Most amateur leagues have ONE SINGLE promotion slot as like 5 leagues will feed into one higher tier league. I would suggest using the editor to relegate a league 10 team to league 11 (which is the only true amateur league). This way you will actually have a budget (of 15k kekw), but this is massive. This will let you offer amateur contracts with a appearance fee. Virtually every player playing for free in amateur league will instantly accept an offer for a $5 appearance fee with no further consideration. These contracts still dont have a salary, thus you can terminate these contracts for free at any time. Thus you can still do the same as above, but you will actually be able to get the best players. HOWEVER, these prime players will be desired as cheap subs by higher tier teams. As again, there is no binding contract, still expect to lose alot of good players.
Game time:
As far as game time, just play your best players every match. You wont train much or play many matches so you wont need that many alternates. If players get mad about playing time, just axe them. They are non contract afterall.
Training:
Who cares about training, you will replace your entire squad every year up until vanarama south, fire ALL your coaches except for your assistant, unless the coach is free. Why develop a player when there is one 5x better you can sign for free.
Tactic:
Alot of other people have touched on this, and tactics dont really change until like premier or atleast sky league. There are tons of low league tactics you can use but if you want to write your own, here are some guidelines.
1. 4-4-2, anything else your players cant comprehend.
2. Direct.
3. Work ball into box, shoot less often (you think your players can hit the broad side of a barn from more than 4 feet away)
4. SET TACKLING TO STAY ON FEET. Your players dont now how to tackle. If you ever want to see a team average 10 yellows a match, turn on 'get stuck in'
5. Did I mention direct?
6. Turn on be more disciplined
7. USE BASIC ROLES. For strikers, targetman is key. Lower league players are just as capable of being tall and strong as premier league players. Use CM or ball winning midfield over like... mezella, use CD over like BPD etc... your players cant comprehend complicated roles.
8. Under transition for lost possession, turn on the tactic that has your players instantly try to win back possession instead of regroup. Players have no first touch so it is easy to win back balls.

I will say, rejection on new stadium is better than your board deciding to build a bee stadium… that is 30% bigger, wiping out your surplus you have built up over the part 8 years when the new stadium isn’t large enough for champion league let alone premier when you get there in a year or two.

Managing Ajax, so I have the league, Champions Cup and dutch cup matches.
The Champions Cup matches get pushed into the schedule so I almost have 3 matches a week, so of course I'm resting my star player in the league matches and using him in the Champions Cup where I need his higher quality.
I can either play him in the two league matches and rest him for the cup, or rest him in the league and play him in the cup, because he SIMPLY can't recover to play matches with just two days between them. it used to be that there was 3 days on one side and 2 days on the other, but for the last couple of years the scheduling create match 2 days match 2 days match and two days simply isn't enough for the player to recover.
It seems like complete BS to code in that high a demand for matches played and then code in a system that ENSURES you can't play them enough. I haven't seen any big teams that play in Champions Cup loss half there star players every year because you played them in the Champions Cup to try to win it.
It is quite micro managing but right before match day rest him for 1 day. He won’t be mad if he misses a match due to being rested.
if he does still get mad I think you can talk to him about resting him before you do.
i agree, annoying tho.

1 set all your tactics to work into the box
2 check your goal scorers, any of them that have bad long shot edit there personal instructions to “shoot less often”.
This will cause your team to shoot less but be patient for good shots rather than wasting opportunity. If this still doesn’t work, get new strikers.

It's under discuss on the player page or under interaction in the right click menu. However, the player actually needs to have done something you can discipline him for, otherwise these options don't show up.
yea, i have someone who is on their 10 yellowcard two game suspension and there is no option. Under discuss there is just praise and warn

I turned off the code of conduct in my latest season to try something different, add some more gameplay. However, I can not seem to figure out how to actually fine people. I thought it was under the discuss tab, however, there is only the ability to talk to them.
Anyone know?
